At the intersection of technology and the humanities, it鈥檚 no surprise that CIC universities are providing national leadership to increase opportunities for researchers, enrich programs, accelerate innovation, and promote sustainability. With four CIC fNEH 2011 Digital Humanities Start-Up grants, and CIC scholars  in the Chicago Humanities Festival, the universities of the CIC continue to shape and advance the field.

CIC stakeholders are working together on identifying the emerging opportunities for collaboration in digital humanities across CIC campuses and invite CIC faculty in the field to the CIC鈥檚 Digital Humanities reception at this year鈥檚 MLA Conference in Seattle.  Mark your calendar for January 7th, 2012 and join us at Seattle鈥檚 famed Triple Door Lounge for a reception from 8:00-9:00 p.m., followed by some amazing live music.

Katherine Walter from UN-L, Martin Mueller from Northwestern, Angela Courtney from Indiana, Dean Rehberger from MSU, PSU Professor (and incoming President of MLA) Michael Berube, along with Jon Winet from Iowa are leading the CIC鈥檚 Digital Humanities Collaboration Committee, which will be hosting the CIC Digital Humanities Summit in spring 2012 at Nebraska.
